Preparing for your First Visit with Dr. Karin

Our goal is not simply to manage symptoms, but to understand the whole person. We strive to create a respectful, collaborative, and judgment-free environment where your concerns are heard and your health goals become our shared focus.

We look forward to partnering with you on your journey toward better brain health and a better quality of life.

Before Your Appointment

To help us make the most of your visit, please complete the following before arriving:

  • Complete your new patient forms through the patient portal.
  • Gather your medical records, including recent clinic notes, imaging reports, laboratory results, and specialist consultations, if available.
  • Bring an up-to-date medication and supplement list, including dosages.
  • Prepare a timeline of your symptoms or diagnosis, including when symptoms began and any significant changes you've noticed.
  • Write down your questions and goals. We encourage you to bring a list so we can address what matters most to you.
  • If you have Parkinson's disease or another movement disorder, take your medications as prescribed unless you have been given different instructions before your appointment.

During Your Visit

Your initial appointment is comprehensive and personalized.

Depending on your needs, your visit may include:

  • A detailed review of your medical history
  • Discussion of your lifestyle, nutrition, sleep, stress, and movement
  • Comprehensive neurological examination
  • Review of prior laboratory testing and imaging
  • Cognitive or functional assessment when appropriate
  • Development of an individualized treatment plan that integrates conventional medicine with evidence-informed lifestyle and integrative therapies

Please Bring With You

  • Photo identification
  • Insurance card (if applicable for covered services)
  • Medication and supplement list
  • Relevant medical records that have not already been sent to our office
  • Glasses, hearing aids, mobility devices, or other assistive equipment you regularly use

Cancellation Policy

  • We understand that unexpected situations arise and appreciate as much notice as possible if you need to reschedule.
  • Appointments canceled or rescheduled with less than 48 business hours' notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.
  • Missed appointments ("no-shows") may be charged the full appointment fee.
  • Repeated late cancellations or missed appointments may result in a requirement to prepay for future appointments.
  • If you are running late, please call our office. We will do our best to accommodate you, although your appointment time may need to be shortened to avoid delaying other patients.
  • We reserve this time exclusively for you and appreciate your consideration in allowing us the opportunity to offer it to another patient when possible.
